APPA Lineworkers Rodeo

Thanks to everyone who helped make the 11th Annual Public Power Lineworkers Rodeo a big success!  NES was proud to host this year's rodeo in Nashville on March 19, 2011 at Gaylord Opryland Resort's 105 Acres.

The Rodeo offers professional recognition, training courses for journeyman and apprentice lineworkers, and a safe environment to practice essential skills.  Lineworkers from across the country competed in five different events that simulate real life situations.  Speed is important, but accuracy is crucial.

NES' Rodeo Team placed 4th overall out of 55 teams competing for top honors.  Team members were Matt Heathman, Steven Stubblefield, Tommy Barksdale and Don Wheeler.  Along with its 4th place team award, NES’ Cody Roberts placed fifth overall out of 76 competitors in the apprentice events.

The Rodeo was established in 2001 by the American Public Power Association (APPA).  For event photos, visit us on Facebook at www.facebook.com/APPALineworkersRodeo.
