Classroom PresentationsRead Along with Edison – Pre-K–2 Let Edison educate and entertain your students with an exciting big book that young readers can enjoy. NES’ Hardhat Heroes – K-6 Lineworkers bring a bucket truck to your school to explain in detail the electrical safety principles they must follow. (Availability based on work demand) Edison Kids’ Power Club – K-6 Edison, the expert on safety and electricity, uses games, experiments, and safety tips to help students expand their power knowledge. Power Town Safety Program – K-8 and Special Needs Using a scale replica of power poles and lines, along with a neon light transformer that generates 15,000 volts of electricity, students learn how to avoid possible dangers. Picnic Under the Panels – K-8 Let your students explore the Adventure Science Center and eat lunch under the Green Power Switch solar panels that generate renewable energy for TVA. NES Behind the Scenes – Grades 10-12 Work-site visits to NES provide opportunities for students to observe employees in an actual work environment. (Must be scheduled 4 weeks in advance) Ask an Engineer – Grades 11-12 This question-and-answer program allows students who are interested in a career in engineering to talk directly with a highly-skilled and experienced engineer.
