Apply for ServiceTo apply for service, call Customer Relations at 615-736-6900 or visit our main office at 1214 Church Street (Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.) According to new federal guidelines, you need two current forms of identification to sign up for service.
Acceptable forms of ID include a driver's license, social security card, passport and birth certificate. Learn more about the FACT Act. Customers should come into our main office from Church Street, park in front of or on the right side of the building, and enter the middle door labeled Customer Lobby. Getting ConnectedThere is a connection fee for all new accounts.
Deposit FeeNew customers will need to pay a deposit (based on a projected two month bill) before service can be connected. In some cases, that fee can be waived:
Commercial deposits will be held for a minimum of 36 months. Deposits are automatically applied to the account after satisfactory payment history is established or upon termination of service. Interest is paid on all deposits that are held for one year. These deposits accrue simple interest on the principal at a rate determined on the first working day of each year. The rate is equivalent to the one year Treasury Bill, minus 175 basis points, rounded off to the nearest half percent. That interest is then credited to the customer's account. Transmission Facility Connection RequirementsFacility Connection Requirements on the NES transmission system, 100kV and above, are designed to promote the safe operation, integrity, and reliability of the system as well as ensure compliance. |
