Commercial RatesPower Rates Rate History Fuel Cost Adjustment Demand Charges Power Credits Power Contracts Understanding Seasonal RatesThe Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) made changes to its rate structure, and all distributors were required to comply on April 1, 2011. Distributors, like NES, were given several rate options. After extensive research, NES chose TVA’s time-of-use seasonal rate option because it has the least impact on our customers. What are Seasonal Rates? Customers are charged a higher rate in the summer (June- September) and winter (December-March). Rates are lower during transitional months (April-May & October-November).
What will it mean for my bill? Though NES is not raising its rates, the new TVA structure will result in higher bills for most customers during the summer and winter months. The degree of the impact will depend on the customer’s usage during those months.
