In-Home Evaluation Common QuestionsDo I need to have an evaluation performed on my home prior to making improvements? Yes, in order for you to be eligible for incentives, you must first have an evaluation performed at your home. Incentives will be available for improvements that are recommended in the evaluation and installed by a QCN member. A select few improvements may be self-installed.
What do I need to do to prepare for an evaluation? Your Energy Advisor will need to access your attic and crawlspace (if applicable). Please relocate items that may prohibit access to these areas.
How long will the evaluation take? The evaluation should take between one and a half to two hours for the average home.
I have questions about my evaluation report, who do I call? Your Energy Advisor will be glad to answer any of your questions. You can find their phone number on the business card in your customer packet.
How long do I have to make recommended improvements on my home? Home improvements must be made within 90 days of the date the Participation Agreement form was signed.
My 90-day time period for making improvements is over, can I get an extension? Yes, under certain circumstances there may be a need to extend the 90-day implementation period. You will need to contact your Energy Advisor to sign another IHEE Agreement to Participate form.
Am I eligible to receive both the cash rebate and financing? Both the cash rebate and financing are available to all IHEE participants. Financing is subject to credit approval.
How long will I have to wait for my cash rebate? You will receive a rebate check in the mail within 4-6 weeks after the date of final inspection.
How many times may I be eligible to receive a cash rebate? The cash rebate is available once per home.
If I make improvements not recommended on the evaluation report can I get the cash rebate or financing? No, only home improvements recommended on the evaluation report are eligible for incentives.
Do certain contractors need to perform the improvements on my home in order for me to be eligible for incentives through the In-Home Energy Evaluation (IHEE) Program? Yes, your contractor must be a member of the TVA Quality Contractor Network (QCN) in order for you to be eligible for rebates or financing.
There are a lot of contractors on the QCN list. How do I pick one to install my energy efficient improvements? All contractors on the QCN list are qualified; agree to install program measures according to TVA’s specification; have met program participation requirements and have completed required training. We recommend that you get several bids on the improvements you would like done, then pick the contractor you feel most comfortable with. Make sure you tell the contractors that the work you want done is through the TVA IHEE program to ensure that the work is installed to TVA specifications.
Can I participate in the Heat Pump Program and the IHEE Program? Of course! If you participate in the Heat Pump Program then you are not eligible for an incentive on that heat pump through the IHEE Program. However, you may be eligible for incentives for other recommended improvements made through the IHEE Program.
All of my recommended improvements have been installed, now what? Simply fax or mail your completed Incentive Application form along with a copy of your detailed contractor invoice(s). Fax: 1-888-527-4404 Mail: Conservation Services Group, 828 Royal Parkway, Suite 100, Nashville, TN 37214
