		NES to Remove Power Lines Along Main Street in Hendersonville For Immediate Release - April 23, 2004 NASHVILLE, TN — Nashville Electric Service (NES) has scheduled power outages on May 1, May 2, and May 8, 2004 to allow crews to remove the 69,000 volt power line along Main Street in Hendersonville. NES recently completed installation of a new 161,000 volt transmission line that connects the Hendersonville Substation (located behind City Square Shopping Center) and the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) transmission lines that parallel Vietnam Veterans Boulevard. The new line was installed to ensure that Hendersonville continues to receive the safe and reliable power it needs. The new line was sited and designed with assistance of a Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC) which approved the route in March 2002. The dates of the clearances and areas affected are as follows: Saturday, May 1, 12:01 - 6:00 a.m. - The outage covers an area that begins at New Shackle Island Road, heads west on Main Street to Center Point Road, then north to Vietnam Veterans Boulevard. It includes homes and businesses located on or off the following main roads: West Main Street, Cranwill Drive, Travis Street, Forest Retreat Road, Boone Holman Road, Freehill Road, Molly Walton Road, Mallard Street, and Lauderdale Court. Sunday, May 2 , 12:01 - 6:00 a.m. - The outage covers an area that begins at New Shackle Island Road, heads east on Main Street to Dunn Street, north to the L & N railroad and south to Nokes Drive. It includes homes and businesses located on or off the following main roads: West Main Street, Imperial Boulevard, Trident Place, Gail Drive, Executive Park Drive, Stadium Drive, Shivel Drive, and Maple Street. Saturday, May 8, 12:01 - 6:00 a.m. - The outage covers an area that begins at Dunn Street, heads east on Main Street to Sanders Ferry Road, north to the L & N railroad, south down Walton Ferry Road to Harlan Avenue. It includes homes and businesses located on or off the following main roads: Main Street, Old Shackle Island Road, Walton Ferry Road, Dunn Street and Harlan Avenue. These outages will be worked rain or shine unless the weather is so bad it makes the work dangerous. All of these outages are planned at night to have as small an impact as possible. NES will be mailing letters to all customers affected by the outages prior to the start of the work. - end -
