NES to Remove Power Lines Along Main Street in HendersonvilleFor Immediate Release - April 23, 2004 NASHVILLE, TN — Nashville Electric Service (NES) has scheduled power outages on May 1, May 2, and May 8, 2004 to allow crews to remove the 69,000 volt power line along Main Street in Hendersonville. NES recently completed installation of a new 161,000 volt transmission line that connects the Hendersonville Substation (located behind City Square Shopping Center) and the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) transmission lines that parallel Vietnam Veterans Boulevard. The new line was installed to ensure that Hendersonville continues to receive the safe and reliable power it needs. The new line was sited and designed with assistance of a Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC) which approved the route in March 2002. The dates of the clearances and areas affected are as follows:
These outages will be worked rain or shine unless the weather is so bad it makes the work dangerous. All of these outages are planned at night to have as small an impact as possible. NES will be mailing letters to all customers affected by the outages prior to the start of the work. - end -
