Reliable Public Power ProviderNashville Electric Service is one of only six public electric utilities in the nation to receive the industry’s highest designation for reliability and safety. NES was awarded the American Public Power Association’s Reliable Public Power Providers (RP3®) Diamond status on March 29, 2010. What is RP3?Utilities are judged on four criteria – reliability, safety, workforce development and system improvement – with RP3 Diamond status attained by those meeting 100 percent of requirements in all four areas. Only four percent of the nation’s public utilities have achieved this status. The RP3 designation represents a high level of service to the community and a model of safe and reliable utility operations. NES received the RP3 Platinum designation in 2006 and 2008. The utility will hold the RP3 Diamond status for two years. Located in Washington, D.C., the APPA is the national organization representing more than 2,000 not-for-profit, community- and state-owned electric utilities. |
