Generation Partners Contractors Generation Partners provides technical support and incentives for homes and businesses that generate their own renewable power including solar, wind, biomass and low-impact hydropower. TVA buys all of the green power at a rate of 12 cents per kilowatt-hour for solar and 3 cents per kilowatt-hour for other renewables above the local electric rate. Payment is made in the form of a credit on the customer's monthly NES bill. TVA currently gets fewer than 50 megawatts of power from renewable sources. But they have a goal of buying up to 2,000 megawatts of wind, solar or biomass and increasing purchases through Generation Partners up to another 200 megawatts.
