Efficient Heating & Cooling

Your thermostat is the single biggest money-saver when it comes to your electric bill.  A few degrees can make a significant difference in your heating and cooling costs.  Can you imagine saving 16% each month?  It’s easy.  Here’s how:

A one-degree change on your electric heater’s thermostat could mean an increase of 5% or more on your monthly heating bill.  This Heating Chart shows how much you can save by keeping the temperature in your home at or below 70 degrees.

Anything below the recommended summer setting of 78 degrees will cost you.  According to this Cooling Chart, you would have to pay almost 30% more each month on cooling costs if you set your thermostat at 75 degrees, or 50% more at a setting of 73 degrees.
