Reconnection of Service

For accounts that are past due, you will receive a disconnect notice on your bill that clearly indicates the past due amount and the deadline for payment. Service may be disconnected any time after the first notice expires.

If service is disconnected, payment of your overdue bill or a satisfactory payment arrangement is required before service can be restored. A reconnection fee will be charged to your account. Be sure to call Customer Relations at 615-736-6900 before 6 p.m. to avoid higher after-hours charges.

Reconnection at meter

  • $36 residential, $60 commercial (weekdays 6 a.m. - 6 p.m., Saturday 7 a.m. - 5 p.m.)
  • $128 (weekdays 6 -10 p.m.)
  • $175 (weekdays after 10 p.m., Saturday after 5 p.m.)

Reconnection at pole

  • $191 (before 6 p.m.)
  • $287 (after 6 p.m.)

Weather-Related Exceptions

NES will not disconnect any residential customer for non-payment if the heat index is predicted to be higher than 102 degrees or if the high temperature of the day is projected to be below freezing (32 degrees).
