FAQs

What is Music City Solar?

Nashville’s first community solar array gives NES customers access to sustainable, maintenance-free solar energy without the hassle and cost of installing panels on their home or business. Music City Solar is the largest solar photovoltaic system in Davidson County, producing an estimated 55 million kilowatt-hours of green energy over its lifetime.

What exactly do I own?

You own a panel in the Music City Solar farm. The panel remains part of the community solar project while generating renewable energy and utility bill credits.

How long do I own my panel?

Ownership remains with you for the life of the program unless ownership is transferred according to program requirements.

How are bill credits calculated?

Bill credits are based on energy generated through the Music City Solar program and applied to your utility bill according to program rules.

Can I buy a solar panel for someone else?

  • Yes. Through Solar Angel, you can purchase a Music City Solar panel and gift ownership to someone else.
  • It's a way to share the benefits of local solar with a friend, family member, or community member while supporting clean energy. The recipient becomes the panel owner.
